TYPEFACE DESIGN IN PT. TITIAN PIJAR METAMORFOSA TO INCREASE COMPANY BRANDING
Abstract
PT. Titian Pijar Metamorfosa is an institution engaged in psychological services, including corporate psychometric testing, counseling, and support programs for children with dyslexia. As an organization focused on psychological empowerment and inclusive education, Metamorfosa requires a visual communication system that accurately represents its values, character, and human-centered approach. Currently, the company does not have a custom typeface that strengthens its visual identity in a consistent and original manner. The use of generic, license-unclear fonts poses potential copyright risks and weakens brand differentiation in a competitive environment. As a solution, a typeface was designed with a friendly, modern, and communicative aesthetic to reflect the values of togetherness, empathy, and professionalism upheld by Metamorfosa. The typeface adopts a bracketed serif style with a humanist structure, making it flexible for use across various communication media, from stationery to digital platforms. The design process follows the Designing Typefaces method by Karen Cheng, involving stages of observation, sketching, digitization, legibility testing, and final implementation. FontLab 8 was used as the primary software for digital type development, enabling precise control over shape, spacing, and consistency. This project is expected to provide PT. Titian Pijar Metamorfosa with an exclusive typographic system that enhances its visual identity while contributing to design practices rooted in institutional needs and social values.
